This article provides an overview of your VERO Application
Congratulations on finding your next home! Here you'll find information on creating your VERO account and completing your application.
What is VERO?
VERO is a leasing application software that allows you to apply with confidence and provide transparency and security in the information you share during the leasing application process.
Your application will take you through the steps required by the property to which you're applying so that you can share your personal details, your employment and income information, and complete any background and credit checks required - all in one secure location.
Log In and Create Your Account
In order to create a VERO account, you must be invited to apply to a unit by being redirected from a property's website or through direct invitation from your leasing team or a member of your application group.
Start your VERO Application and Create Account
Whether you've been invited directly or are redirected to create an account from a property's website, you'll receive an email to either start or continue your application, depending on where you are in the property's overall application process.
The email to apply will come from no-reply@mail.sayvero.com.
If you don't receive the invitation in your inbox after a few moments, check your spam inbox or trash folder and ensure your email address was spelled correctly.
Next, click the button in the email to load your invitation:
Enter your email address and set a password following the requirements on the screen.
If you already have a VERO account using this email address, you'll be prompted to enter your existing password to log in.
Note: You must use the email address used to create your invitation to apply in VERO.
Once you've set your password, you'll then be prompted to confirm your Basic Information and agree to the Terms & Conditions. You'll then be brought to your application overview:
Complete Tasks on Your Application
While each property has a unique version of this process based on its policies, requirements, and local regulations, most properties will have some combination of these tasks for you to complete:
Upload Your ID & Snap a Selfie
In this task, you'll complete a scan of your government-issued ID and a selfie authentication to verify your identity and information. You can find more information on how to successfully verify your identity here.
Link your Income Sources
In this task, you will have the opportunity to link your accounts. Linking your accounts is secure and allows for an automatic snapshot of your employment and income information directly from your employer or by analyzing your income deposits to your bank account to calculate your income.
You may also have the option to upload financial documents like paystubs, bank statements, or 1009 forms that can be parsed for income information. You can find more information on how to verify your income in these sections:
Share your Background & Credit
The property you're applying to may have you complete a background and credit check through either Experian or TransUnion, which you will have the opportunity to review in full before submitting your application. NOTE: If you have previously placed a freeze or block on your credit, you will need to remove this before attempting the step to avoid any issues or delays with receiving your report.
Leasing Details
This task will include completing things such as Lease Preferences, additional questions like pet or vehicle information, and providing required as well as additional documentation. You may also be asked to answer other custom questions the property has added within this section of the application as well.
Pay any applicable fees and submit your Application
During this task, you will be prompted to pay any relevant application fees requested by the property. Any fees will be itemized and available for you to pay via Credit Card via Stripe.
Review and Submit Your Application
As you complete each task, your progress will be shown via the application overview homepage. Completed tasks will look like this:
Once you believe you have completed each task of your application, including any relevant application fees, you can navigate back to the application overview to check your progress. At the top of your overview, a completed application will be shown like this:
After verifying that each task has been properly completed, you can submit your application by selecting the purple 'Submit' button in the top right of your screen:
After submission, most properties will make a decision within 24-48 hours of your submission. That being said, it can be worth reaching out to the property directly to confirm their specific processes!
Managing your VERO Account and Applications
Once you've submitted your application, you can review your application, submit other applications to other properties that use the VERO platform, or make edits to your information. You can learn more here.
